Choosing House Is Simple<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every few years the housing market rewrites the rules, and buyers who learned the last set of rules show up unprepared<\/a> for the new ones. If the report surfaces<\/a> findings that change the financial picture of the deal, you have three options, not one, and walking away is a legitimate one of them. You can request a credit against the purchase price to handle repairs yourself. What you should not do is panic and waive your right to negotiate<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Negotiation works best when it is quiet and well-prepared. Before you make an offer, find out whether there are other offers on the table or offers that have already fallen through. A listing with a history of two failed deals in the past month is a fundamentally different negotiation than a property that is drawing multiple showings every day.<\/p>\n

Real estate is illiquid. Buying and selling<\/a> inside two years is almost always a money-losing proposition once you account for the full cost of both transactions<\/a>. None of that means do not buy. It means be honest about your time horizon before you commit.<\/p>\n

The buyers who come out ahead in this market are not the ones who waited for perfect conditions. They are the ones who treated the purchase like a business decision rather than an emotional one. The most useful thing you can do today is look at homes for sale near you<\/a> and see whether the numbers work for your situation<\/a>.
